Traders, Business Owners in Lagos were seen on Monday rejecting Old N1000, N500 and N200.This is coming after the February 10 deadline given by CBN for old Naira swap.
Speaking with a Mini-mart owner in Ogba Lagos, he said that his banks alerted him on Monday to stop accepting old naira notes.
"Yesterday I got a call from my two banks, they asked me not to accept old notes as they are no longer acceptable.
"I accept transfer, or transactions through POS. The only problem is that I don't have enough change to give to people," he said.
The unbanked traders are most hit, since they have no bank account where they can receive cash transfer. They complained bitterly of low patronage.
