The governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party in Abia State, Prof Uche Ikonne is dead.
He died in the early hours of today at National hospital Abuja after a brief illness.
The Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, John Okiye Kalu has confirmed his death in a statement that reads,"I regret to announce the death of my dear father, Prof Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne, that died at National Hospital Abuja today, 25th January 2023 by 4am after a brief illness.
He was recovering very well after a treatment in the United Kingdom but relapsed few days ago leading to multiple cardiac arrest that lead to his death."
