Tony Elumelu Laments Disappearance Of His Twitter Verified Tick

Tony O Elumelu CFR has posted this morning on his Twitter account announcing the removal of his blue tick on his verified Twitter account.

He wrote, "Woke up to see that my verification tick has disappeared.

Wahala!

It has become clear that Elon Musk has removed all legacy verification ticks today. Those with Verified Twitter accounts have to pay 8 to 20 dollars now to stay verified as earlier announced by Twitter.

Elumelu is an economist and founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation and was named in 2020 on Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
